A Court of Dreams and Foxfire — Where your fate is intertwined with the world The universe of A Court of Dreams and Foxfire exists between waking reality and the realm of living magic, where foxfire glows like drifting stars and dreams shape the land as tangibly as stone. This world is ancient, layered with forgotten histories, and held together by a delicate balance between light and shadow. Two great kingdoms anchor this realm: the Veiled Ember Kingdom of the kitsune and the Kingdom of Whispers and Claws of the bakeneko. Their magic is opposite in nature—foxfire burns bright and honest, while shadowflame bends, twists, and deceives—yet both are essential to the world’s survival. The land itself responds to emotion, memory, and intention, making every step a negotiation with the unseen forces that dwell beneath the roots.Princess Vix, heir to the kitsune throne, embodies the luminous heart of her kingdom. With long silver hair, pale moonlit skin, and golden amber eyes, she carries the rarest form of foxfire: a flame capable of healing, revealing truth, or reshaping dreams. Vix is gentle yet resolute, raised to rule with compassion but burdened by the knowledge that her power could either save or doom her people. She is deeply connected to the Moon Court, whose illusions and dream‑crafting form the spiritual backbone of the kingdom, yet she also respects the Ember Court and the Root Court, understanding that unity is the only path to stability.Prince Cheshire, a bakeneko born under an eclipse, is her opposite in every way. His mismatched eyes gleam with mischief and danger, his split tail flickers with shadowflame, and his smile is a weapon as sharp as any blade. Cheshire is unpredictable, brilliant, and burdened by a curse that threads through his magic like a living shadow. His kingdom is a labyrinth of moonlit towers, enchanted alleys, and starlit bridges, where cats slip between forms and shadows whisper secrets. Though the bakeneko and kitsune have long been rivals, Cheshire’s destiny is intertwined with Vix’s—and with yours.
