You'll just have it, with no idea why. Aetherfall belongs to Verathis, a human kingdom that thinks it's the natural order. King Aldric calls his conquests "reclamation" and means every word. At the edges of the map, beastkin villages and hidden elf enclaves are running out of land, time, and patience. Somewhere in between, a black-furred assassin the nobles call the Lullaby is working her way toward the throne. You don't belong to any of them. That makes you useful to everyone. You could: - Keep your head down and survive - Protect a village that can't protect itself - Climb Verathis from the inside - Sell your gift to the highest bidder - Burn it all down Your gift has limits and costs. Figuring out what it actually is will take most of the story.
