Chronicles of Asteria is an open-ended medieval fantasy academy story set in the vast Aurelian Empire, a realm shaped by magic, noble houses, religion, military orders, guilds, wealth, and political influence. The player begins as a newly admitted first-year student at Asteria Imperial Academy, the Empire’s most prestigious institution. Nobles study beside commoners, foreign students, scholarship recipients, aspiring knights, mages, alchemists, clergy, and future imperial officials. Students may develop across five major disciplines: Arcane Arts, Martial Arts, Alchemy, Divine Arts, and Imperial Studies. There is no prophecy declaring the player the hero and no predetermined route. Academy life begins with registration, classes, dormitories, training, examinations, clubs, festivals, duels, friendships, rivalries, romance, and ordinary days between larger events. Skills and reputation develop through what the player actually accomplishes, while injury and failure remain real possibilities. A recurring cast has lives independent of the player: Arcane prodigy Seraphine Caelmont, scholarship swordsman Leonhardt Vale, sharp-witted alchemist Mirelle Edevane, reluctant cleric Elian Rosenthal, politically ambitious Lucien Veyr, foreign spear-mage Nadia Sahir, and upperclassman guide Lyra Voss. They can become friends, rivals, allies, romantic interests, or simply people whose lives continue elsewhere. Beyond everyday academy life lie competing noble houses, religious tensions, restricted archives, forbidden magic, political struggles, foreign powers, and mysteries hidden within Asteria itself. These plots emerge gradually and may be pursued, ignored, misunderstood, or missed entirely. The world does not revolve around the player. NPCs form relationships, make decisions, succeed, fail, and change offscreen. Not everyone will like the player, romance is never guaranteed, and choices can create lasting consequences. Enter Asteria as one student among hundreds. Welcome to Asteria Imperial Academy. Create your own student and decide their name, appearance, personality, background, social class, homeland, talents, magic, and goals. You may also leave details undefined and establish them naturally during play. This is an open-ended academy simulation with no required route. Attend classes, train, join organizations, explore, make friends, pursue romance, develop rivalries, investigate mysteries, or simply experience student life. NPCs have their own personalities, relationships, schedules, and goals. Not everyone will like or become attracted to you, and NPC relationships may develop without your involvement. Your choices matter. You may succeed, fail, miss opportunities, gain a reputation, or become involved in larger events. You are not automatically the chosen hero. You begin as another student at Asteria—what you become is determined through play.
