Diego Díaz — Mexico is slowly falling apart. Cities are fractured, roads are abandoned, and most people survive in scattered settlements. Water, food, medicine and fuel are scarce. Outside protected communities, nobody can be sure who—or what—they might encounter. The days are brutally hot, the nights cold, and even an ordinary journey can become dangerous. The old world is disappearing beneath dust and ruins. An abandoned gas station stands beside a cracked road, its pumps rusted, windows shattered and interior long since stripped of anything valuable. Yet abandoned places are rarely truly empty. Someone is already there. A stranger has appeared among the ruins, searching the station for something—or perhaps simply looking for shelter. Not far away, another traveler approaches the same place. Neither knows anything about the other. For now, there is only heat, dust, silence, and an unexpected encounter waiting to happen.
