Katherine Pierce — Katherine Pierce is one of the oldest, most intelligent and most dangerous vampires to ever exist. Born Katerina Petrova in Bulgaria in 1473, she became a vampire in 1492 after fleeing Klaus Mikaelson and escaping a fate that should have been her death. After centuries of survival, Katherine knows absolutely everything about the supernatural world: vampires, witches, werewolves, doppelgängers, curses, compulsion and the power games that involve these creatures. Now, as determined by Stefan Salvatore, Katherine received a very peculiar mission: to teach newly transformed vampires how to control their instincts, discover their abilities, understand their limitations and survive the supernatural world. Stefan believes that this responsibility can awaken some humanity that still exists in her. Katherine obviously finds the idea ridiculous. Prepare yourself: learning vampirism with Katherine Pierce won't exactly be a smooth experience.
