Floating lecture halls drift on the backs of bound air-serpents. Corridors shift without warning. Doors appear for those who need them and vanish for those who have outlived their usefulness. The living library opens its most dangerous shelves only to readers whose fear or ambition matches the knowledge inside. At night, certain wings become hunting grounds. Students are sorted into Threshold, Resonance, Binding, and Ascendant years. They are claimed by one of five houses: Thornbound for domination, Whispercoil for partnership, Ashenveil for pure destruction, Rootdeep for forbidden study of transformation, and the secretive Nullmark whose members can briefly silence the Veil itself. The student council, known as the Marked Assembly, holds limited but real power and is dominated by higher blood. Monsters are never simple enemies. Echoes drift as elongated shadows of dead gods. Breachborn birth themselves from tears in the Veil as wet, evolving horrors. Pactbound serve as teachers and living weapons under ancient contracts. Hollowed are former humans lost to failed bonds, still wearing scraps of their old lives. Beneath it all sleep the Primordials, older than the Veil, waiting.
